Laminated wood: A concentrate of beauty, homogeneity, stability and resistance

The most suitable material for the creation of quality windows and doors

The laminated wood profiles, made by overlapping and glueing wooden layers of various thicknesses together, thanks to the uniform drying process and the composition of the structure according to the different needs of the manufacturers of windows and doors, guarantee reliable timing and optimal performance and eco-sustainability along the entire supply chain by specific certifications.

Laminated wood

Let’s discover all the functional and aesthetic advantages of the profiles and elements obtained from the processing of laminated wood.

Selection

Being made up of multiple layers, this product makes it possible to offer the customer a vast selection from which to choose, such as the type of fibre (striped rather than flamed), the type of KKK, DKD and DKK structure (FJ layers or one-piece layers or even a combination) and the composition, understood as the number, thickness and arrangement of the layers that compose it.

Ease

The laminated wood, being produced according to the needs of the market, where each section corresponds to a very specific element of the window, door, shutter, sliding door, etc., does not present great difficulty in transformation during the consumer’s production process, unlike the free interpretation of the operator who finds himself working on solid wood boards.

Stability

The glueing of multiple layers, less thick than a solid wood plank, allows the wood raw material to work/move less over time and therefore guarantees the product’s greater durability and greater stability.

Speed

The laminated wood is supplied according to the section, quality, quantity and length requested by the customer. Compared to the use of solid wood, this allows for storage, handling and transformation in a very short time.

Quality

The laminated wood, being composed of multiple layers, is easily workable without the typical defects/characteristics of wood, which are not always tolerated.

Laminated wood: new life for wood

Used ever more frequently in the construction field and in the furniture sector, laminated wood is now becoming more and more of a protagonist, representing a new way of using an “ancient” material such as wood, which, however, acquires new life thanks to its stability, resistance time, homogeneity, versatility and eco-sustainability. This composite material finds application in the sector of window and door frames, frame rods, furniture and many other possibilities.

The stages in the processing of laminated wood

We buy trimmed or prismatic planks that go through a further cycle of air drying or ageing, if necessary. We then trim to obtain slats of the same width which will subsequently be pre-planed in order to homogenise the thickness and obtain maximum yield from the layers. At the same time, splitting takes place for the prismatic product, an occasion for further quality selection. Passing under the scanner and optimiser makes it possible to eliminate the presence of further defects, especially taking into consideration the length. Once the layers have been stored, they are the basis on which offers to our customers are studied and created. We proceed as final stages with the planing, dividing the layers according to their destination: internal layers, external layers and glueing/packaging, which also includes the final operations of quality control and the CTB-LCA marking for all our certified types of wood.
